§ 33.04. ORGANIZATION.

  • Each company of the Fire Department shall perfect and maintain its own organization, determine and elect its own officers and adopt its own regulations governing activities of its members in their relation to the company as may be necessary to promote the efficiency of the company. The Fire Department as a whole shall either through action by its entire membership or through a board of control composed of representatives chosen by the several companies, perfect and maintain its own organization, elect its own officers, except Chief, Assistant Chief and Fire Training and Safety Officer who shall be chosen as hereinafter provided, and adopt its own regulations affecting the activities of individual members and companies in their relation to the Department. The Department or companies may determine the uniforms to be worn, and no person other than a member shall be permitted to wear the uniforms. In all matters referred to in this section, however, the Department and the companies shall be subject to the control, direction and approval of the Mayor and the City Council.
