§ 51.070. CONNECTIONS, WHEN REQUIRED.

  • The owners of all houses, buildings or properties used for human occupancy, employment, recreation or other purposes situated within the City and whose property line is within 300 feet of the public sanitary sewer system are hereby required, at the owner’s expense, to install suitable toilet facilities therein and to connect the facilities directly with the proper public sewer within one year from the date the public sanitary sewer system is constructed and any septic tanks, cesspools and similar private sewage disposal facilities shall be abandoned and filled with suitable material. Should a health hazard exist, as determined by the Board of Health, after a public sanitary sewer system is constructed within 100 feet of the property line, the property owner will be required to connect suitable toilet facilities directly with the proper public sewer system immediately.
