(A) Definition. For purposes of this schedule, (1) A BUS shall not mean a school bus or a bus owned, sponsored, sanctioned or hired by the City for use in a public transportation system; and (2) A TRUCK shall not include authorized emergency vehicles when responding to an emergency call or maintenance vehicles owned by the City or any utility company. (B) Trucks and buses prohibited. It shall be unlawful for any person to drive, operate or be in actual physical control of a truck or bus upon any portion of the roads, highways, alleys or streets of the City except in designated truck routes. (C) Exceptions. Trucks or buses not exempted under division (A) of this schedule may be driven within the City only upon the following streets.
(D) Affirmative defense. It shall be an affirmative defense to this schedule if the driver can show the driver is delivering or picking up people, goods, wares, merchandise or materials within the corporate limits of the City when the delivery or pickup is made by use of the shortest route from the closest truck route where able.
